The results of an experimental study of the nonlinear behavior of reflex ports of various shapes are presented. The parameters that are compared between the ports include noise, harmonic distortion, and flow resistance. The result is that careful design yields significant improvements in the dynamic range, however, relatively small irregularities can increase the nonlinearity greatly.
