A method for determining the variation with diaphragm position of the mechanical parameters of an electrodynamic loudspeaker unit is described. In this method, the moving system of the loudspeaker is excited mechanically so that the mechanical impedance can be determined independently of the electromagnetic coupling in the loudspeaker unit. The parameters are determined from the impedance curve with a simple curve fitting technique.
