An Elementary High-Resolution Microphone System for Localization of Sound Sources in Air

Document Thumbnail

A high-resolution microphone system with a simple design and the ability to very easily adapt to different conditions and applications has been developed. The system contains a single microphone with supplying receiving block utilizing a synthetic aperture. A full description of the system is given, and the results of measurements for different configurations (frequency, dimension, number, and distance of antenna positions) and different localities (rooms, halls, open space) are presented. Examples of applications in audio acoustics are given.
