High levels of electromagnetic fields coming from radio and TV transmitters need special measures to guarantee the electromagnetic compatibility that is required. During the early design stage of a radio/TV studio, decisions need to be made to find the best grounding system and to define the standard of fail safety for future equipment. This paper describes various grounding systems, screenings, and principles of video/audio networks including interfaces, together with the results of measurements (electromagnetic-field strength and the level of : interference in power supplies). Plans were made for several studios, one of which is located directly next to the tower of a transmitter.
