Computer Modeling of Air Distortion in Compression Chamber of Horn Drivers with Centrally Supportede Diaphragm

Document Thumbnail

The linear distortion of a signal in recently proposed horn drivers with a centrally supported diaphragm is calculated by the accurate solution of the differential equation with impedance boundary conditions, describing the wave process in a chamber with an internal circumferential exit. Nonlinear distortion of the air due to the nonlinear adiabatic compression at high sound-pressure levels is accurately modeled while considering the complex impedance of the air chamber load and the wave process. The influence of ferrofluid and air viscous losses on the driver's output is also considered.
