An objective measure for audio level loudness is increasingly required by broadcasters in order to produce a homogeneous sound surface. 30 years ago, ISO issued a specification for a system that could produce an objective value of the equivalent loudness. The specification has had only a limited impact due to its complexity of implementation. By means of digital signal processing, a low-cost simple-to-operate system has been implemented in the DK-Audio master stereo display.
