Field testing and determination of applicability to a real-world environment are necessary parts of the design process of any recording console. The fact that digital consoles are in their third generation and constitute a radical departure from analog working renders this phase of the process that much more critical. A three-month field engineering evaluation of such a desk is detailed in the paper.
