This paper presents the results of a study of the acoustics characteristics of the saxophone family. The work describes each part of the saxophone-the mouthpiece and reed, the main body, and the bell-trying to obtain the influence of every piece over the global behavior of the instruments. The acoustics parameters are related to musical characteristics, independent of them.
