DSP and MIDI Applications in Loudspeaker Design

Document Thumbnail

DSP chips and MIDI control have been applied to loudspeaker design. The DSP functions provide loudspeaker working conditions optimization, loudspeakers and power amplifiers matching optimization, and signal processing. The high demand of computing power made it necessary to develop custom DSPs, implementing equalization, phase linearization, components realignment and impedance control, through FFT algorithms and FIR filters. Basic MIDI control has been provided to recall the DSP presets. A future MIDILINK language will provide more comprehensive sound systems MIDI (computer) control.
