Since the first dedicated auralization session at the AES 91st Convention in New York in 1991, the number of auralization and auralization-like applications has multiplied. Auralization is today a fairly common technique in architectural acoustics but is now, due to hardware advances, beginning to be used in virtual reality applications. Several examples of applications, which are on the borderline between static auralization for architectural acoustics and virtual reality, are presented.
