Concatenating individual diffusers to form larger ones narrow their diffusion patterns into specific directions. A solution is proposed using modulation of two orthogonal diffusion structures with binary sequences to achieve the desired diffusion pattern. The technique results in large-area diffusion structures, which do not suffer from having narrowed diffusion patterns, and have an extended frequency range, but which can be implemented easily using existing diffusers.
