For the purpose of establishing a specification of control rooms used for HDTV multichannel sound program production, a study group started work in spring 1992. The following two types of realistic control rooms were considered: floor area 50-/-20 m2, picture monitor CRT 36 in or equivalent; and floor area 100+/-30 m2, picture monitor perforated screen 140 in or equivalent.
