Improving Reverberation Time of a Mosque: A New Possibility

Document Thumbnail

Mosque, a typical enclosed building, requires optimum reverberation time in order to achieve acceptable speech intelligibility. A typical approach to achieve correct reverberation time is through acoustics treatments. Based on the reverberation time measurements that were conducted at two large mosques, the possibilities of improving reverberation time using perforated walls are discussed. This paper elaborates on the use of perforated walls for acoustic treatment in mosques.
