The paper introduces the distributed connection management on the IEEE 1394 for maintaining logical connections established between devices on the bus. Logical connections can be established regardless of physical position of each device and automatically reconfigured after bus initialization. Furthermore, all the logical connections on a bus are stored as one configuration and can be rebuilt on another bus.
