The paper examines a number of experiments concerned with the influence of stereophonic width on the perceived quality of an audio-visual presentation using a domestic multichannel sound system. The results show that the quality of reproduction of spatial information increases with increasing stereophonic width. The influence of listening position, reproduction level, and low-frequency energy is also examined.
