Experimental Investigation of Backman's Low-Frequency Loudspeaker Enclosure Modelling

Document Thumbnail

Backman's low-frequency modeling of loudspeaker enclosures is based on the use of transmission-line subsections in order to include most (but not all) aspects of enclosure geometry driver and vent positioning. A long enclosure that allows the driver and vent to be mounted in several positions has been constructed and measured. Simulation and experimental data of both vent response and electrical impedance are compared in order to derive useful conclusions over the range of validity of this new model.
