A new Class-D amplifier for digital input signals (power D/A converter) is presented. The amplifier is based on sigma-delta modulation and includes a high-efficiency power switching output stage. In combination with digital crossover systems, the new digital amplifier is well suited for high-power active loudspeaker systems.
