The performance of a mobile prototype of a wave field synthesis system for direct sound enhancement (DSE) has been evaluated in different auditoria. Physical as well as perceptual measurements were done in such a way that real and synthesized fields of a point source could be compared. Results confirm that wave field synthesis is a powerful concept in sound enhancement with the preservation of true source localization.
