Audio Equipment on Aircraft

An important event marked the development of the airline industry during the late forties: the installation of audio equipment aboard aircraft. The equipment was used by members of the crew to communicate among themselves as well as with passengers. Later on the equipment was expanded to provide a comprehensive entertainment program of music, movies, and videos. This paper presents the developments of such audio equipment using as a model aircraft that has been flown by the German airlines.
