A Method of Reproducing Concert Hall Sounds by "Loudspeaker Walls"

Document Thumbnail

This paper presents a new method for reproducing concert hall sound in a listening room, called loudspeaker-walls, which consist of many (over 300) small loudspeakers arrayed on the walls of the listening room. Many of irrelevant reverberation sounds reproduced through loudspeaker-walls provide a very wide listening area. The reverberation sounds are synthesized from the room impulse response of a concert hall with a new signal processing method.
