A new approach to the design of automated digital audio archives is offered by the information technology world. Several benefits can be achieved through this approach, including full automation of the management and consultation operations, scale economies, advanced search and manipulation functions, and fault-tolerant features. The aim of this paper is to analyze the design of the automated archive for audio broadcasting, taking into account the broadcasters' requirements, the technological aspects, and the expected improvements to the existing services, as well as the possibility of implementing new functionalities.
