The concept of a system for creating databases of musical instrument sound parameters is described. The discretization of real-value databases of musical sound parameters has been done using a collection of discretization methods. The distribution of parameter values has been investigated and visualized. Rough set systems have been applied to check the importance of particular parameters. The paper presents the conclusions concerning discretization of real-value sound parameters.
