Psychoacoustic Effects of Ringing in Microphones

Document Thumbnail

The development and analysis of a blind listening test and a method for measurement of the time domain response of a microphone are described. In an attempt to understand why microphones which have similar performance features are sometimes perceived as sounding very different from one another, the results of the time domain data are compared to results from the listening test.
