The WG-4 of the DVD Forum has been working on the establishment of the DVD-Audio format, which will surely bring the new enjoyment in audio. Whether a new audio format will be widely accepted or not depends on how well the format allows for the requests from the music industry and the general user who love audio and music. This paper describes how the WG-4 has been discussing with the three recording associations, RIAA, IFPI, and RIAJ to establish the new audio format. The draft or guideline of the format will have been announced by the end of the coming August; the guideline will be offered at the occasion of presentation of the paper.
