Industrial microphone applications present a number of important requirements, such as: ruggedness; weather and environment proofing; good signal to background noise and hum ratios; adaptability and easy serviceability. A microphone designed to meet these, and other objectives, will be described. A tailored response characteristic is utilized to obtain good intelligibility in general industrial noise spectrums.
