In this paper, a specific efficient implementation for the synthesis of acoustic guitar tones is described which is based on recent digital waveguide synthesis techniques. Enhanced analysis methods are used for calibrating the synthesis model based on digitized tones. The computational cost and memory requirements of the guitar synthesizer are lower than those of former approaches while the sound quality is kept very high.
