The paper presents a model for an inherent distortion caused by flow resistance modulation in small transducers. This type of distortion is most significant near the resonance frequency of the transducer, and can be an important factor in limiting the transducer performance. A numerical model is presented for different forms of nonlinearity, and examples of the nonlinear effects are computed.
