Lossless Audio Signal Processing

Document Thumbnail

This paper presents methods for performing signal processing which do not require rounding or truncation. These techniques, which are based on finite fields, offer the possibility of lossless signal processing. The problems of conventional signal processing are reviewed. Then finite-field signal processing techniques are described and how they give improved performance explained. The effects of filter lenght and coefficient accuracy are also discussed.
