The paper describes a computational model for sound pressure, acoustical power, and driver displacement of a transmission line loudspeaker taking into account the properties of fibrous absorbents in the line, the acoustical loading of the port and the acoustical interaction of the driver and the port. The paper describes the performance achievable in a transmission line loudspeaker and compares it to the performance of bass reflex designs realized with similar drivers. Also driver parameters (e.g., resonance frequency, damping, compliance) required for a transmission line system are discussed.
