Minimum acceptable sound isolation was subjectively determined using three types of amplified music (drums, guitar, bass) as sound sources in a room with adjustable sound transmission loss to the adjacent studio. Thresholds of acceptability were noted for the various source types. The music sound source was replaced with pink noise to determine acceptable one-third-octave band sound isolation.
