Complaints against excessive noise from outdoor venues have increased over the years. However, very little objective data exists showing sound level impact that different types of concerts may have on a venue's neighboring communities. This paper shows the results obtained from monitoring four different popular music groups over a two-month period. Two remote sound level monitoring stations were positioned inside the venue and in the backyards of concerned residents. Overall A-weighted levels were obtained for each performance and the resulting increase in community A-weighted levels from this particular venue were negligible.
