A 3-1 quadraphonic microphone for HDTV has been developed to improve the mobility of HDTV sound pickup systems. This microphone is a one-point, pickup type, with a small pipe-like shape. The directivity response pattern of this microphone is appropriate for pickup of HDTV 3-1 sound, since the principal axes are directed toward three front directions (left: 60°; center: 0°; right: -60°) and one rear direction (180°).
