In the context of low bit-rate audio coding, particular error concealment techniques can be efficiently applied in order to reduce the effects of errors in the transmission channel. Several proposed methods of varying complexity work on the spectral domain representation of the audio data. The performance of these algorithms is compared in terms of the subjective quality of the restored signal using a perceptual measurement technique.
