Any band-limited system has a time-smear in its impulse response. The width of this impulse response is dependent on the bandwidth of the system and the way its band is limited. This spread results in a masking of fine details, and the related temporal decay can vary from 0.16 dB/µs to 1.09 dB/µs. The concept will be discussed and examples will illustrate the results.
