Smart Battery Pack

Document Thumbnail

A new generation of RF-microport pocket transmitters use a smart battery pack as the energy source. It is able to indicate the energy reserve of the battery and to modulate and transmit this information in the AF-subband through a 10-bit telegram to the receiver. The receiver decodes the telegram and indicates the energy reserves of the transmitter on an LED display. Details for primary and rechargeable cells as well as technical background for the miniature circuit are described.
