The acoustical design of music rehearsal rooms should fulfill the musicians' wishes. In the individual rehearsal rooms, the musician has to be able to detect any mistakes made; therefore a low reverberation time is desired. On the other hand, in a large rehearsal room, the orchestra is working on its quality, and the ability of the musicians to hear one another must exist. Rooms of various sizes and acoustical conditions are described, together with results of measurements. Special measures concerning sound isolation inside the building and noise emission prevention are included.
