At What Height Should We Make Measurements in the Audience of a Concert Hall?

Document Thumbnail

A measurement of the sound field above seats was done in a concert hall, using a maximum length sequence measurement system. The variations and standard deviations of some classical criteria upon altitude were evaluated. Direct sound pressure level is predominant for most of the criteria. It is shown that their variations can be interpreted with a simple diffraction model.
