The Integrating Finite Impulse-Response Filter

Document Thumbnail

The highly efficient delta-coded finite impulse response (DCFIR) filter is presented. Its structure consists of a sparse FIR filter cascaded with one or more digital integrators. The DCFIR filter offers equal performance over each octave without resorting to clumsy multirate techniques, and its coefficients may be rapidly estimated. The paper discusses its concept and design and compares it to other methods of broadband equalization.
