SynthKit is a Macintosh-based algorithm design, compilation, and execution tool. Building blocks representing common music synthesis functions are connected to represent the algorithm desired. The algorithm can then be compiled into one of the DSPs supported (currently three). Automatic code optimization can be performed to compress the DSP code as much as possible while preserving the original functionality. The algorithm can then be run using the Macintosh as a host, controlling internal DSP cards, or exported for other hardware implementations.
