A survey on the audio sector of the multimedia market in Russia is discussed. There are many new private companies, mainly spread throughout Russia, which design and produce original audio hardware and software for AT-compatible personal computers. Russian-made audio for multimedia use include both simple PC extensions for education, entertainment, and communication applications; and more complex PC-based digital audio workstations for professional users in the broadcasting, cinema, and recording industries.
