Experience with a Sound Enhancement System Based on Wavefront Synthesis

Document Thumbnail

At a previous AES convention, the theory of wave-front synthesis was introduced as the basis for enhancement of sound with full preservation of its natural properties in space and time. Since then, systems based on this theory have been built and tested, under laboratory conditions as well as in real auditoria. In this paper, the performance of these systems is discussed in terms of physical and perceptual criteria.
