A new principle for conversion of audio between different sampling rates is described. The principle results in a rather small processing requirement and large commonality with A/D and D/A building blocks. Due to the full-digital operation, an intelligent loop control can be added which has many application advantages. The implementation into silicon and system aspects, such as SPDIF input and requantization, are added.
