The wave-field synthesis method is applied to reinforcement of direct sound. Source signals are recorded by means of directive microphones and extrapolated, with the aid of a DSP-based processor, to a loudspeaker array in such a way that wave fronts are radiated with natural properties in space and time. This paper discusses how spatial aliasing can be reduced by limitation of the spatial angle of radiation. Also, considered is how time-variant properties can be included in the system which increase its stability without affecting the sound quality.
