The application of acoustic transducers with well defined optimal qualities of directivity is especially to handle problems of sound amplification. To do this the shape of directional patterns must be deliberately influenced. As a function of amplitude weighing coefficients sets an one-dimensional analytical optimization for cylindrical transducers is presented. The results provide a tool to optimize the directional patterns.
