A Variable-Bit-Rate Buried-Data Channel for Compact Disc

Document Thumbnail

Recently, an elegant method was published to add buried data to a CD signal in a compatible way. This method is based on subtractively dithered noise-shaped quantization, and provides a fixed-rate buried-data channel. In this paper we describe an adaptive extension to this method resulting in a variable rate of higher average value.
