This paper provides a report on the development of planar loudspeakers for professional/commercial sound applications. Included is selected historical information relative to the development of planar loudspeakers. In addition, an examination of the construction of a production model of a system designed to meet specific requirements and applications relative to use in commercial installation is presented. Detailed engineering data, on this loudspeaker, is also provided as well as some discussion regarding assets and concerns relative to its utilization.
