An Exact Model of Acoustic Radiation in Enclosed Spaces

Document Thumbnail

Traditional methods of modelling radiation of sound in enclosed spaces have involved the use of image theory, ray-tracing and/or the consideration of only some of the enclosure boundaries. These approaches are of limited practical use. Finite Element Analysis is now reaching maturity and offers the designer of acoustic spaces the potential exact computer models. This paper discusses and demonstrates the Finite Element technique as applied to acoustic spaces.
