Digital mixing consoles, compared to analogue ones, offer additional features like flexible input/output configuration, flexible routing, and increased signal processing parameters setting capabilities. This paper first discusses the hardware architecture of a new digital mixing device, including system integration aspects. Also described is how the control of these additional features is integrated in a standard mixing console operating surface.
