The AES/EBU standard is the established standard for serial transfer of digital audio data. SCSI is perhaps the most popular standard for the transfer of data from direct sequence devices, such as discs and tapes. The authors have designed and built an interface for standard-alone conversion between SCSI, AES/EBU, and a 16-bit linear codec. This paper presents design rationale and schematics.
