The distribution of the magnetic field inside a gap is calculated by the finite-element method. The interaction of the voice coil with the calculated field is expressed by differential equations. Waveforms of excursion and sound-pressure level are obtained for various levels and frequencies of input voltage. Harmonics spectra are calculated by Fourier transformation. Simulated distortion graphs and measured harmonic curves reveal good : accordance.
